Albert LeDoux

Albert LeDoux is in his ninth season as Artistic Director of the Bach Society. A Louisiana native, he received his undergraduate degree in oboe from Loyola University in New Orleans. He spent fifteen years as a professional chorister and conductor with opera companies in Regensburg, Heidelberg and Dresden, and with numerous choral ensembles in southern Germany. Returning to the U.S. in 1997, he earned a doctorate in conducting in 2001 from the University of South Carolina, where he was also a Fellow at the nationally recognized Conductors’ Institute and its partner program at the Spoleto Festival. For two seasons, he was assistant conductor in charge of musical preparation for South Carolina Opera and conducted productions for Opera at USC. He has also recently served as Artistic Director of NOVA, New Orleans’ professional chamber choir.
