Brendan Emig
Brendan Emig, baritone, is a sought-after voice teacher and performer in the Houston area. He gives private voice lessons in the North Houston area and at Houston’s First Baptist School of Fine Arts. He sings with Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church as a choral arts intern, with the choral group Cantare Houston, and in the Bach Choir of the Bach Society Houston where he often performs as a soloist. Mr. Emig holds a Master of Music degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where he performed such roles as Schaunard in La Boheme, Azalon in Dangerous Liaisons, and Frank in The Postman Always Rings Twice, and also performed in various scenes productions. While in Cincinnati, Mr. Emig worked for St. Peter in Chains Cathedral and as a young artist for the University of Kentucky Opera Outreach Program. He also performed as a soloist in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Carmina Burana, and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Sam Houston State University where he performed many oratorio roles as well as Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, St. Peter in Too Many Sopranos, and Guglielmo in Cosi Fan Tutte. Mr. Emig has performed in the Houston area as a soloist for the Durufle Requiem, the Haydn Lord Nelson Mass, the Beethoven Mass in C, and Handel's Messiah in recent years.
